4. Was machst du beruflich? Ich mache meinen Master in Erziehungswissenschaften. Später möchte ich mal in Personalabteilungen von Firmen arbeiten.
5. Warum bist du Freiwillige/r in Indien und wie lange? Ich wollte mit Kindern arbeiten. Irgendjemand muss sich um die Kinder kümmern, um die sich keiner kümmert.
   Außerdem finde ich Indien wegen der Kultur und Traditionen sehr interessant.
6. Was ist dein Lieblingshobby? Pilates, Yoga und lesen.
7. Was kannst du am besten? Ich bin sehr kreativ. Irgendeinen Weg werde ich immer finden.
8. Welcher Religion gehörst du an? Bist du sehr religiös? Ich bin katholisch. Ich lebe meine Religion zwar nicht so aktiv, aber ich glaube in Gott.
9. Welche wichtigen Geschehnisse passierten in den letzten ein, zwei Jahren in deinem Land? Die Drogengewalt und Drogenkriminalität ist zugenommen. In den letzten Jahren gab es viele Verbesserungen für die Frauen, besonders im Arbeitsleben. Jetzt kann zum Beispiel auch eine Frau mehr verdienen als ein Mann. Die Regierung hat mehr in Bildung investiert. Auch an den öffentlichen Schulen soll die Lage besser werden.
10. Was ist am besten an Mexiko? Die Menschen, sie sind sehr warmherzig, hilfsbereit und immer glücklich.
11. Was sind die größten Probleme in Mexiko? Es gibt eine Menge arme Leute und ein Problem in der Bildung. Es gibt zum Beispiel nicht genug Universitäten. Wenn man nicht genug Geld für sie hat, hat man es sehr schwer.
12. Nenne eine Persönlichkeit aus deinem Land, die dir gefällt. Frieda Kahlo. Sie ist glaube ich die erste mexikanische Künstlerin, die international Anerkennung gefunden hat. Ich mag ihre Bilder.
13. Was war die wichtigste Erfahrung, die du in deinem Leben gemacht hast? Das was ich jetzt mache, Freiwilligenarbeit. Gerade bin ich so richtig frei in dem, was ich mache. Ich arbeite mit Kindern, in Mexiko ist das ein schlecht bezahlter Beruf.
14. Was ist für dich der größte Unterschied zwischen Mexiko und Indien? Speziell für mich, die Hygiene. Wir trennen den Müll in Mexiko und auch die Körperwäsche kommt mir sorgfältiger vor in Mexiko.

9. Which important things happened to/in your country in the last one or two years? The drug violence increased. Also there were lots of supports to women especially in work field. Now a woman can earn more money than a man.
   There are more investments in education, they improved the public schools.
10. What is the best thing about Mexico? The warm people of Mexico. They will always help you and they are always happy.
11. What are the biggest problems of Mexico? There are a lot of poor people. Education is a problem. There are not enough universities and the level of the universities is not so good. It is hard when you have not enough money to go to a university.
12. Which is your favourite Personality from your country? Frieda Kahlo. She is probably the first female mexican artist that is known internationally. I like her pictures very much.
13. What was the most important experience that you made in your life? What I am doing now: Volunteering. I am free in what I am doing. At the moment I am working with kids. In Mexico this is not a well payed job.
14. What is the biggest difference for you between India and Mexico? For me it's the hygiene and the seperated trash.

4. Was machst du beruflich? Ich habe Erziehungswissenschaften studiert. Ich möchte vielleicht in Richtung Erwachsenenbildung gehen oder promovieren.
5. Warum bist du Freiwillige/r in Indien und wie lange? Indien war mein Traumziel. Ich wollte mich engagieren und was vom Alltag mitnehmen. Da ist Freiwilliger zu sein genau das richtige. Mich interessieren Yoga und die indische Philosophie, ich war gespannt, wie die Menschen das in Wirklichkeit leben. Ich bleibe für ein Jahr.
6. Was ist dein Lieblingshobby? Telemarken, das ist eine spezielle Skitechnik.
7. Was kannst du am besten? Ich habe eine positive Lebenseinstellung, die auch andere Leute mitnehmen kann.
8. Welcher Religion gehörst du an? Bist du sehr religiös? Ich bin Protestant. Ich suche nach einem Glauben, lebe aber nicht danach. Ich habe meinen Glauben noch nicht gefunden.
9. Welche wichtigen Geschehnisse passierten in den letzten ein, zwei Jahren in deinem Land? Das bedeutendste war wohl der Atomausstieg. Ich war zu der Zeit in Frankreich. Ein paar Franzosen meinte zu mir, dass Deutschland wenigstens was machen würde, im Gegensatz zu Frankreich.
10. Was ist am besten an Deutschland? Dass man auf einem kleinen Raum so viel entdecken kann. Hier gibt es Gruppierungen, in denen die Leute wirklich was verändern wollen. Diesen Menschen geht es nicht nur um das Kommerzielle sondern auch ums Menschliche. Man kann hier Menschen finden, die eine ähnliche Einstellung haben.
11. Was sind die größten Probleme in Deutschland? Es gibt zu viel Ausländerfeindlichkeit und eine immer noch bestehende und teilweise anwachsende Rechtsszene.
12. Nenne eine Persönlichkeit aus deinem Land, die dir gefällt. Gertrud Hermes, das ist eine bedeutende Persönlichkeit aus der Erwachsenenbildung der Weimarer Republik.
13. Was war die wichtigste Erfahrung, die du in deinem Leben gemacht hast? Die Trennung von einem langjährigen Freund.
14. Was ist für dich der größte Unterschied zwischen Deutschland und Indien? Planung ist in Indien komplett anders: Es gibt nicht DEN Plan, sondern DIE Handlung.

4. What is your job/profession? I am studying education. Maybe I want to work in the field of education for adults or I'm going to doctorate.
5. Why are you volunteer in India and how long? India was my dream. I wanted to do volunteer work over here because I think that is the way I will learn the most of the culture and the normal life of the people. Especially Yoga and the indian philosophy is very interesting for me.

I worked in that time in France. The young people there said to me: At least you Germans do something, here in France changes nothing after that.
10. What is the best thing about Germany? You can discover so much on such a small room. There are some people that really want to change something. For them it is not just the commercial interest but the human interest. You can always find those people that have similar opinions like you in Germany.
11. What are the biggest problems of Germany? Many Germans are afraid of strangers and some don't like them. There is a extremly right part of people that didn't disappear over the years.

9. Welche wichtigen Geschehnisse passierten in den letzten ein, zwei Jahren in deinem Land? Auf den Phillipinen wurde eine Bus voller Touristen aus Hong Kong gekidnapped. Mehrere Kamerateams haben gefilmt und es wurde live im Fernsehen übertragen. Unsere Regierung hat den Geiseln nicht geholfen und ca. die Hälfte der Geiseln starb. Das war ein schockierendes Ereignis für die ganze Nation.
10. Was ist am besten an Hong Kong? Hong Kong ist ein guter Platz zum reisen. Es ist sehr sicher hier und man kann gut shoppen, denn die Preise sind nicht zu hoch.
11. Was sind die größten Probleme in Hong Kong? Hong Kong ist eine ehemalige Kolonie von England und gehört heute zu China. Im Vergleich zu dem Rest von China ist Hong Kong eher ähnlich mit England und hier gibt es andere Gesetze. China versucht Hong Kong allerdings dem Rest anzupassen. Die Menschen hier haben große Angst davor. Denn China kontrolliert zum Beispiel alle Medien.
12. Nenne eine Persönlichkeit aus deinem Land, die dir gefällt. Bruce Lee, er ist wahrscheinlich der bekannteste Mensch aus Hong Kong. In seinen Filmen kämpft er gegen die Chinesen. Er hat Kung Fu bekannt gemacht.
13. Was war die wichtigste Erfahrung, die du in deinem Leben gemacht hast? Das was ich gerade mache – mein Indienaufenthalt. Das ist eine große Herausforderung für mich. Ich war noch nie für so lange Zeit in einem anderen Land.
14. Was ist für dich der größte Unterschied zwischen Hong Kong und Indien? Hong Kong ist sehr sauber. Indien dagegen ist sehr schmutzig und es liegt so viel Müll rum.

10. What is the best thing about Hong Kong? It's a good place to travel and it's very safe. It is very good for shopping, too, because the prices are low.
11. What are the biggest problems of Hong Kong? Hong Kong is a former colonie of England, but today it is part of China. So the life in Hong Kong is more like in England as in the rest of China. The Chinese government is trying to make it in Hong Kong like in the rest of China. We Hong Kong people are afraid of that. For example China controls all the media in the country, that is not good.

4. Was machst du beruflich? Ich beende gerade mein Tourismusstudium. Ich möchte später vielleicht in einer eigenen NGO arbeiten.

Angeblich soll er sich an einer Putzfrau in einem amerikanischen Hotel vergangen haben. Auf dem Filmfestival in Cannes wurde ein französischer Schauspieler, Jean Dujardin, mit dem Titel des besten Schauspielers ausgezeichnet.Eine Frau in einer französischen sozialen Partei hat gute Chancen Präsidentschaftskandidat zu werden.
10. Was ist am besten an Frankreich? Paris, die schönste Stadt der Welt. Essen wie Käse, Rattatouil oder Beouf Bourguignion.
11. Was sind die größten Probleme in Frankreich? Wohnungspreise sind sehr teuer. Für junge Menschen ist es sehr schwer einen Job zu bekommen, sogar wenn sie eine gute Ausbildung haben.
12. Nenne eine Persönlichkeit aus deinem Land, die dir gefällt. Jean Dujardin, der Schauspieler, der dieses Jahr in Cannes ausgezeichnet wurde.
13. Was war die wichtigste Erfahrung, die du in deinem Leben gemacht hast? Ich hatte eine Beziehung mit einer ehemaligen Prostituierten aus Afrika. Sie hatte keine Arbeit, keine Dokumente und keinen Platz zum Schlafen. Manchmal war es wirklich hart, weil es so viele Probleme gab.
14. Was ist für dich der größte Unterschied zwischen Frankreich und Indien? Ein großer Unterschied ist, dass man hier kein Toilettenpapier benutzt, sondern sich mit der linken Hand und Wasser wäscht.

Sie hat ihren persönlichen Trainer geheiratet, weshalb die Hochzeit von gewisser Brisanz war. Bei den letzten Wahlen ist eine rassistische Partei ins Parlament gekommen.
   Es ist ein Buch über den König herausgekommen, dass von vielen Skandalen erzählt und dem Ruf des Königs sehr geschadet hat.
10. Was ist am besten an Schweden? Es ist sicher und sauber.
11. Was sind die größten Probleme in Schweden? Es ist härter geworden für Leute Arbeit zu finden. Der Staat gibt jetzt nicht mehr so leicht Geld, deshalb ist es für Arbeitslose noch härter geworden.
    Es gibt ein paar Integrationsprobleme.

13. Was war die wichtigste Erfahrung, die du in deinem Leben gemacht hast? Als ich herumgereist bin. Beim Reisen lernt man viel über die Welt, du bekommst ein echtes Bild von den Dingen und verstehst, wie manche Dinge funktionieren.
14. Was ist für dich der größte Unterschied zwischen Schweden und Indien? In Indien macht man alle Dinge zusammen und man ist nicht gewohnt die Sachen allein zu erledigen. In Schweden guckt jeder in erster Linie auf sich selbst und man macht mehr Dinge alleine.
15. Eine gute Redewendung oder ein gutes Zitat, das du kennst? Du wirst die Dinge im Leben mehr bereuen, die du nicht gemacht hast, als die, die du gemacht hast.
16. Was sind deine Pläne für die Zukunft? In Indien herumreisen, einen Platz finden, wo ich mich niederlassen kann.

1. What is your name? Maria Carlsson.
2. How old are you? 32.
3. Which country are you from? Sweden.
4. What is your job/profession? Water Ecologist.
5. Why are you volunteer in India and how long? I wanted to get new experiences, learn more about Indian culture. I wanted to work in another field of work that I'm used to be at home.
6. What is your favourite hobby? Spending time with friends, visiting concerts, having nice dinners.
7. Which is your best talent? To contact other people.
8. What is your religion? How activly are you practicing it? I'm Protestant. I'm paying taxes to the church but I'm not believing in god.
9. Which important things happened to/in your country in the last one or two years? Last summer our princess got married. She married her personal trainer so it was a big event for the whole country. Last election a racist party became part of the parliament. A book came out that told a lot about the past of our king and showed many scandalous stories about him. That was bad for his reputation.
10. What is the best thing about Sweden? It is safe and clean.
11. What are the biggest problems of Sweden? It is hard for people to find work especially for people that are handicapped in some way. Now it is tougher because the state doesn't give out money so easily anymore.
12. Which is your favourite Personality from your country? Martin Kellerman, the comic author of „Rocky“.
13. What was the most important experience that you made in your life? When I am travelling. You learn a lot about the world, you get a real picture how things in the world work.
14. What is the biggest difference for you between India and Sweden? You always do everything together in India. In Sweden you do more things alone. Here the society is looking more for you, in Sweden everybody lokks for hisself.
15. A good phrase or quotation that you know. You will probably regret the things that you didn't do in your life, than the things that you did.
16. What are your plans for the future? Travelling in India, to find a place where I would like to settle down for a little longer.

Massig Freiwillige!

Hier in Kundapur ist man als Ausländer nie allein. Denn hier hat FSL ein Büro und viele Freiwillige kommen und gehen, weil es hier viele Projekte gibt. Ich hab mir deshalb vorgenommen meine Freiwilligenkollegen aus aller Welt mal vorzustellen. Werd ich stetig ergänzen über das Jahr.
